Raita is an essential part of Indian cuisine, made with Curd/plain Yogurt. Due to its cooling characteristics, it is very useful to offset the spiciness of Indian curries. Apart from plain yougurt as main ingredient, tha Raita can be made
with several different raw vegetables, fruits or sometimes with droplets of gram flour called Boondi.Let’s Learn how to make Boondi Raita today !
Ingredients
1/2 cup boondi, you can you plain or spice one
1 cup curd /yogurt /dahi
1/2 teaspoon cumin powder
1/4 teaspoon red chili powder , if required
black salt or pink Himalayan salt as required
1 cup water
2-3 teaspoon chopped Cilantro /Hari Dhaniya
Instructions
1. Whisk the plain yogurt in a bowl. You can use a fork, spoon or egg whisker. I had a Hand blender tool handy so used that one. Either one is fine, just make sure that there are no lumps.
2. Add the Boondi Gram flour droplets into yogurt and mix it again.
3. Add all the dry spice powders- cumin powder, salt, red chili powder, Stir Raita well.
4. That's it ! Garnish with cilantro and serve as side dish. The Raita will go great with pulao, rice or biryani as well.
